Being single at the holidays can be tough. And the holiday tradition of sending out Christmas cards is usually preserved for growing families, new babies and adorable pets. However, Paige Davis (@paigedav), a single woman in Los Angeles, decided two years ago to break the stigma and send out a solo holiday card celebrating where she's at in life.

"Here’s the origin story of my annual holiday card. 2024 is coming to your mailboxes this week!" she captioned the video. It begins with Davis wearing matching pajamas and dancing underneath a lit tree displaying her first holiday card. "In 2022, I asked myself, 'Why do families send out holiday cards?'", she wrote in the video. "Why can't single people send out cards? So I decided to break the stigma that only families can send out."

While content and happy on her own, she also put a humorous twist on her card to benefit her dating life. She noted that she also used her holiday card "as an opportunity to solicit a boyfriend." Wearing a silky red dress on the front of the card, she rocked a cozy off-white sweater on the back, where Davis put a funny (and pointed) message on the card to her recipients to properly display them. "Please feel free to display this holiday card in a prominent, visible place where any tall, successful men that may enter your home can see it."

In the video, she notes that the first year of sending out her holiday cards brought zero successful dating results. So the following year she tried again and sent out another solo card, this time with a fun photo of herself wearing a beige sequin dress and popping champagne. "2023's card was similar since everyone came up with ZILCH for me the previous year," she wrote. On her 2023 card, she signed it as 'Yes, yet again. Still just Paige.' On the flip side, she added an extra cheeky message to the beginning of her holiday greeting (with a photo of herself in a pretty lace top). "You guys really blew it last year. Maybe you didn't see the instructions? Let's do better this year, okay?" She followed it with her previous message, "Please feel free to display this holiday card in a prominent, visible place where any tall, successful men that may enter your home can see it."

Davis teased her 2024 card in another Instagram post. "Sneak peek of this year’s holiday card ✨🎄Who wants one?? I’m BUZZING about this year’s concept, I think you guys are gonna die 💀," she captioned the photo of herself in an off-the-shoulder fur coat with a diamond tennis necklace.

And Davis' followers are loving her idea. "I am obsessed with this. I just had the same thought this year. I was like man I can’t wait to have a family of my own and send out Christmas cards. Why not I a young single women send out Christmas cards regardless….?" one commented. Another shared, "GIRLLLL I will give you creative credit! This is AMAZING! YOU ARE AN ICON TO US ALL! 🔥🔥🔥". And another follower gave her props. "I respect the heck outta this! 🙌🏼"

And other single ladies shared that they also send out their own cards. "This will be my 14th year sending out single cards - my friends and family are always pumped to see them!!" one of her follower's wrote. Another commented, "i’ve been doing this for the past 7 years! But I don’t tell them to put where men can see… new idea 😅🤔."

Whether you have a family or you're still single, the message is clear–send a card!

Customer fights back after restaurant refuses to serve free tap water

Some restaurants have adopted automated payment systems that include mandatory gratuities, sparking debates about tipping culture. While many argue that tipping provides essential income for service workers, others believe restaurants should pay fair wages instead. A Reddit user, u/ilikesnark, recently shared a frustrating dining experience that reignited the discussion—this time over a restaurant's refusal to serve tap water.

In their post, titled "Waitress refused to give me water so I removed the 15% auto gratuity," the Redditor described the awkward situation. They had gone out to eat alone and noticed the restaurant’s policy of automatically adding a 15% tip to every bill. While ordering, they requested a glass of tap water, but the waitress instead brought a bottle of water. When the customer asked again for tap water, the waitress insisted they didn’t have any.

It can really be this simple.

4 years ago, a man shared his '9 delights of life.' Then he met a stranger transformed by it.

When you close your eyes and go to sleep, what’s really important to you? It’s a question that’s been asked since the dawn of time, each time producing a different answer. Like everything else, ideas surrounding what makes life worth living have been reevaluated, reshaped, and redefined by scientists, theologians, and philosophers for millennia.

Hand dyeing brassy hair

A beautiful hair journey.

Fabulous son helps his mom embrace gray hair after years of dyeing

Have you watched The Substance? I have not (body horror isn't really my thing), but from what I gather, the message at the film's core is profound: Don't resist aging because doing so only invokes chaos and destruction. This sounds nice in theory, but there's so much pressure to age the "right" way in the real world. Older women especially face an impossible task: aging "gracefully" while the world around you treats youth as the ultimate prize.

However, a viral YouTube video is not-so-quietly rewriting society's beauty rules. When celebrity hairstylist Guy Tang's mom decided to embrace her natural gray hair and stop dyeing it dark, she turned to her son for help. The transformation, documented in one of Tang's many videos, took over eight hours to complete—an astounding testament to the power of reclaiming authority and recognizing the beauty of aging.

Why millennials are saying Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince is the greatest TV dad ever

Sitcoms hit a peak in the 80s and 90s—and most Millennials can claim that they 'grew up' with them. A lot of time it was the father figures in these TV shows who proved to be standout characters, but one dad captured Millennials hearts over all the rest: Uncle Phil, played by actor James Avery inFresh Prince of Bel-Air. Uncle Phil was deemed the best sitcom dad by Millennials, and he earned the title from one of his show's most impactful scenes from the episode "Papa's Got a Brand New Excuse" that aired in May 1994.

In it, Will (played by actor Will Smith) spends time with his dad Lou, who has been absent for the past 14 years. Uncle Phil is distrustful of Lou and protective over his nephew Will. So when Lou decides to dip out on a trip he planned with Will, Uncle Phil steps into Will's pain and supports him. It plays out as one of the most emotional scenes Millennials can remember–making Uncle Phil the best TV dad in their eyes.
