Sam Rockwell is one of those rare actors who can do it all—act, charm, and, as the internet has rediscovered, dance. Much like Christopher Walken’s iconic moves we wrote about on Upworthy, Rockwell’s dancing feels like a surprising—and incredibly satisfying—skill that elevates him to a whole new level of cool. A new viral compilation of Rockwell’s entrances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon showcases his habit of turning every stage walk into a full-blown performance.

Whether he’s twirling a cane in a sly nod to Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka or busting out some smooth footwork, Rockwell proves that dancing isn’t just a skill—it’s a personality trait. As one Reddit commenter gushed, “You can’t NOT love Sam Rockwell,” while another joked, “The man ROCKS well.”

Other thoughts on Rockwell’s moves:

  • “He’s mostly Lindy hopping. Search for Lindy hop dancing and you’ll see most of his moves.”
  • “He’s just… smooth. Very, very smooth. Clearly, the guy has a serious dance background.”
  • “At least Fallon got out there so we could see how much better Sam is than him.”

While Fallon mostly plays the supportive sidekick in these moments, it’s worth noting that he once went toe-to-toe with Rockwell in a 2013 improv dance battle on Late Night. The two pulled from a “Velvety Dance Bag” of absurd moves, like “The Sassy Lasso” and “The I Just Tripped But I’m Playing It Off Like I Didn’t.” Fallon brought the comedy, but Rockwell’s skill and charisma stole the show.

Rockwell’s dance moves aren’t just for talk shows, though. From his role as Bob Fosse in Fosse/Verdon to his countless on-screen dance moments, he’s made movement part of his signature style. As one commenter pointed out, “He was cast as Fosse, ferchrissakes!”

Fans also highlighted how Rockwell’s dancing reflects his joy and playfulness. “He just loves to dance,” one person wrote. “And it’s infectious. You can’t help but smile watching him.” Another added, “It’s not even about how good he is—he’s just having fun, and that’s what makes it so cool.”

Sam Rockwell’s entrances—and his effortless dancing—are a bit surprising yet very fun. Whether it’s an improvised routine or a nod to Hollywood legends, Rockwell’s moves have a charm that’s impossible not to enjoy.

Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles overcomes illness in epic perfect '10' floor routine

Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles is one of the GOATS of American gymnastics, alongside Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Aly Raisman, Kerri Strug and more iconic athletes. After competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics (where she helped Team USA earn its fourth-ever team gold medal) Chiles, 23, made a triumphant collegiate comeback with UCLA Gymnastics–earning her tenth 'perfect 10' of her collegiate career during a recent meet against 5th-ranked Michigan State on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Chiles performed a stellar floor routine to a mash-up of Prince songs (including "Let’s Go Crazy"). What's more–she completed her flawless routine while still recovering from illness. Chiles was battling the flu and a 104-degree fever the previous week before competing. She told USA Today, "It’s not fun, but I knew in that moment that no matter what, how strong I am and I have people around me that can help me and support me. At the end of the day, we’re going to just keep pushing forward and I knew what my role was."

How to reset your Sunday, according to cleaning experts

No one really wants to spend their entire Sunday cleaning, right? There are so many better ways to spend your time: reading a book, going for a long walk, watching a movie that’s been on your list forever, playing “Stardew Valley” for a dozen hours straight, etc. But what if that deep clean you’ve been putting off could actually be good for your mental health… and fun?

In a blog on their website, Koala Eco (an Australian company that makes powerful, plant-based cleaning products) writes, “while cleaning is often viewed as an inevitable means to an end, the act of cleaning and organizing itself comes with some surprising benefits.” They continue, “rather than resenting the task of cleaning, embrace it as a desirable ritual. Approaching everyday tasks like washing the dishes, doing laundry, and cleaning the bathroom with a sense of awareness, intention, and mindfulness can be beneficial in keeping you grounded and reducing stress and anxiety levels.”

She was challenged to ‘name 3 Metallica songs’, her response melted faces

Heavy metal has long been a male-dominated space, with legendary bands like Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath shaping the genre. Over time, artists like Evanescence’s Amy Lee have helped change the scene, but women in metal still face skepticism from gatekeepers who question their credibility. That was exactly what happened to Zaria Zoyner—known as @zariasmusic on TikTok—when she posted a video wearing a Metallica shirt. Instead of praise, she was bombarded with condescending comments challenging her knowledge of the band. But her response? Absolutely legendary.

After Zaria posted a TikTok in December 2020 featuring her Ride the Lightning T-shirt, one commenter, @paytonnsmith, tried to call her bluff, writing, “Name 3 Metallica songs.” Others joined in, accusing her of wearing the shirt just for show. Instead of getting discouraged, Zaria took the challenge head-on.
