Michael Maze (@michaelmaze727), a paraplegic motocross athlete, has not let his T3 paralyzation stop him from anything. So, when the avid dirt biker and adventurer proposed to his girlfriend Trinity Brooks (@_trinity.yk_) while grabbing dinner together, he lifted himself out of his wheelchair and onto the ground on his own accord to get down on one knee.

In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Maze showed the entire proposal to Brooks that has the entire Internet in tears. "I asked the table behind us to record when she came back from running to the car," he wrote in the video's caption.

The people at the table behind Maze and Brooks did them a solid, and as the video records, Maze wheels himself to the side of their table and begins to lift himself out of the chair. He adjusts his legs to "get down on one knee." Brooks is totally shocked, and as she realizes it's a marriage proposal, she stands up. Bruno Mars' song "Marry Me" plays over the video, and the couple exchange a few words before Brooks gets down on the floor with Maze to give him a hug and a kiss. The entire restaurant begins to clap, and the video ends with Brooks showing off her engagement ring.

The video garnered an incredible response from viewers with lots of kind messages and comments. "I absolutely love how she didn't stress or try to help him. She sat there and let him have his moment as a man! ❤️❤️," one commented.

Another added, "Love how she stood up. She knew what this moment and gesture meant to him."

And another viewer wrote, "And here I am, crying over two strangers’ love story like I’m part of their relationship.❤️😭😭😭"

Following the overwhelming response to the video, Michael and Trinity made a follow-up to thank everyone for their kind well-wishes and share a few more details about their relationship.

"Our recent proposal video got a lot of likes and comments congratulating us, and it was a lot to filter through and thank everyone so we wanted to make a video on it just thanking everyone. We're really excited and we can't wait to take everyone along on this journey with us," Maze says in the video, adding they plan to share some behind-the-scenes wedding planning videos.

Maze previously opened up about the motocross accident in 2016 that left him paralyzed. "I was making a pass for third place on the second lap, and I guess I scrubbed, which means you take the bars and you scrub really hard to stay lower, staying lower off a jump is faster rather than shooting really high," he told ABC30. "After my foot bay caught the top, it sent me into a flip. My bike landed on top of me and crushed my spine."

The crash resulted in Maze being induced into a coma and caused a broken neck and collapsed lung. He was paralyzed from the chest down. He also shared a video on Instagram detailing his recovery process.

However, two years after the accident he decided to build himself a new bike that fit his new abilities to get back to racing. Today, he continues to ride and live life to the fullest as evidenced by his and Brooks' exciting new chapter to come.
