One of the most special parts about getting engaged is the proposal. The story of how your partner got down on one knee is one that can live on through generations. But for Instagrammer Jennifer Valentyne and her husband Greg, it is one that was 25 years in the making. Valentyne shared an emotional video on her Instagram with her followers of Greg proposing to her for the first time while celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.

"Never been proposed to! Married 25 years but there was never a proposal. We went back to the place we honeymooned to celebrate our anniversary and I thought my husband was surprising me with a trend. It's unusual for him to be on social and I've never seen him this emotional," she wrote in the video.

In the sweet video, Jennifer and Greg are standing on a scenic hill as Greg tells her that he wants to try a social media "trend," hence why they are filming. From there, his proposal beings. "We've been married for 25 years. it's a long time. And we are back in the same place that we took our honeymoon for the first time," he says to her. "It took us a long time to get back. We have bought houses, we've raised children." As he speaks, his voice starts to break with emotion, and he puts his hand on her shoulder.

He continues, "And I just want to say I love you. Always have. I love you just the way you are." Greg gives her multiple kisses on her cheek, then gets down on one knee and pulls out an anniversary band ring. "For another 25 years, I choose us. Will you marry me?"

Jennifer quips that the line is from her "favorite Christmas movie" (which is The Family Man), before she jokes, "Let me think about it. Of course, of course!" The couple then share a kiss and embrace together.

In the caption, Jennifer shared more details about their wedding day, and how Greg's proposal was totally on brand for them. "Greg broke his ankle a week before the ceremony, the beautiful cake we ordered arrived late when everyone was leaving and eyelash glue made my eye swell for the photos. Perfectly Imperfect and that’s exactly how this proposal went 😂," she wrote.

She continues, "The wind was blowing, it was spitting rain and the Volcano 🌋 was covered in clouds. (Guess where we are?) I got the giggles and after reminding himself to get down on the left knee Greg was caught off guard with all my comical reactions and used his right. Oh, and we were on a very steep hill and almost fell over. I wouldn’t change a thing and maybe one day we’ll do a trend!!!"

The emotional proposal truly touched viewers, including their daughter Georgia. Georgia commented, "I am so happy I get to see my mom and dad falling in love all over again 💌 crying so much. I love you."

Another viewer added, "😭😭😭 not me here crying🥹 this so beautiful. Happy anniversary ❤️❤️❤️❤️."

And another wrote, "Oh Jen. This is so beautiful. Made me tear up. This is what long time love looks like. Well done Greg!"

Teen with Down syndrome travels hundreds of miles for incredible reunion with brother

Going off to college is the break-free moment that most young adults long for. While the newfound freedom is an amazing change, it is also a time of transition--which can bring a lot of uncomfortable feelings with the adjustment. It can be overwhelming, scary, and unfamiliar. So when mom Kimberly DowDell (@thekimberlydowdell) received a message from her son Blake that he was feeling anxious and overwhelmed during his second semester at college, she knew exactly what to do. She loaded up the family, including her husband and Blake's brother Jack (who has Down syndrome), and got on the road to go see him. And the brothers had an emotional reunion that was shared on social media.

"Blake is in his second semester of college, and being away from home can be hard. When he told us he was feeling anxious and overwhelmed, we didn’t even think twice—we jumped in the car and drove 286 miles just to be there for him," she wrote in the post's Instagram caption. "To remind him he’s not alone. To give him words of encouragement. To wrap him in a hug that says, we see you, we love you, and we’re always here for you."

Chastity Patterson started texting her late father's phone number every day since his death in 2015. After four years of sending unreturned messages, she received a response that she couldn't have predicted in a million years. Jason Ligons was always a father figure to Chastity, even though they weren't related by blood.

He may not have been her biological father, but according to Chastity, "he never missed a school dance, prom, my games, and YES he would give me long talks about my mouth and attitude. I had to introduce my boyfriends to him (if I was allowed to date) and he would act like a normal dad and give us the long talk. I've cried with him, told him everything..."
