Expecting a new baby is a thing to celebrate. Most expectant couples are thrown a traditional baby shower–with food, gifts, games and more. But they can also become a big production–which is why Tiana Krah's girlfriends decided to skip it and instead throw her a 'nesting' party.

Tiana's husband, Myer Gzi-gzi Krah, shared a video on Instagram of exactly how they rallied around their entire family to help them nest (aka prepare) to welcome their new baby–the couple's fifth child. He captioned the video, 'Are Baby Showers Out in 2025?', adding, "We Skipped the Baby Shower… And It Was the Best Decision Ever!💪🏾 Baby showers are cool and all, I actually love the meatballs but I don’t need meatballs—I need help!😂"

He goes on to explain what a nesting party is. "What’s a nesting party? Think of it like a baby shower, but instead of playing games and opening gifts, your people show up ready to WORK," he writes. "Real support when we needed it most. You can do this in addition to the baby shower if you really want 🤷🏾♂️If you’re expecting, send this to your significant other!"

In the video, Myer shares a montage of video clips from the nesting party and a play-by-play of the nesting party. "My wife's friends decided to pull up to the house with girl tools, dressed down, hair wrapped and ready to go," he explains as the video shows the women first decorating cute onesies. Following craft time, they got to work as Myer cooks and watches their four kids–which he jokes he was "somewhat failing at".

"I was not prepared for what was about to happen next," he says. "These ladies took everything me and my wife needed to get done before the baby got here and put it together, and drew a task from a box. In it they found things like 'move rocking chair to master bedroom, organize baby's dresser, hang baby's clothes, deep clean the mini van, stock mommy's fridge with snacks and things she would need for when she's breastfeeding'."

Her friends are shown in the video really getting after it, putting baby blankets in drawers and cleaning the stroller. "If you don't mind skipping the baby shower stress, do this instead," he says. "In just a few hours they did more things than I could have done for my wife in weeks. The best part was watching mommy relax and watch it all happen."

And his followers are fully supportive of hosting nesting parties instead of traditional baby showers. "🥹 I love this idea so much!! What an amazing chance for your family to be shown so much love!!! ❤️," one commented, and Myer replied, "a real village! " Another wrote, "You gotta have real friends to do something like this. Not just people who wanna show up to eat meatballs, and Rotel dip." Another shared, "I like this because you’re inviting people who you know and love. I’m not attending anymore showers for children I don’t know. People pass out baby shower invites like confetti just to get a gift."

Baby showers may truly be out in 2025.
