Adoption provides a powerful pathway for children to find loving homes and stability. Every year, over 250,000 children enter foster care, and sadly, not all find permanent homes. However, for a 5-year-old boy from Bernalillo, New Mexico, his dream came true in a courtroom moment that touched hearts nationwide.

During his official adoption hearing, captured on video and shared by USA TODAY, the judge invited anyone present to speak. Without hesitation, the young boy eagerly raised his hand.

"I wanted to say that I love my mom so much and she's the best mom I ever had," he announced sincerely.

His heartfelt declaration deeply moved everyone present, including his adoptive mother, Jennifer Hubby, who fought back tears as she embraced her son. Even the judge found the moment profound and emotionally significant.

"Oh my gosh. Well, you know what. It's important to tell people you love them and that they care about you. So, you're a lucky guy," the judge said, visibly touched. She added warmly, "I am glad you love them. That's what we're supposed to be doing. It's a good thing."

Finalizing the adoption, the judge congratulated Jennifer Hubby, concluding a lengthy and challenging process. For Jennifer, adopting Cameron was a dream she'd cherished from the day he was born, despite the lengthy financial and legal hurdles involved.

Jennifer openly credited her wife Kimberly for making the adoption possible. In an emotional (now-deleted) Facebook post, she wrote, "I have officially adopted Cameron."

In another heartfelt post, Jennifer highlighted Kimberly’s crucial support: "NONE of this would be possible without my beautiful wife."

"None of this would have been possible without Kim courageously standing up and saying she agrees and supports this adoption. A mother protecting her son. That’s what she did for us," Jennifer wrote, emphasizing Kimberly's dedication.

Jennifer noted that although Cameron often received the spotlight, Kimberly's consistent hard work and steadfast support provided the stability their family needed to complete the adoption.

The emotional adoption hearing isn't an isolated story of love transforming lives. Another touching moment recently gained attention online, illustrating the beauty of adoption.

Two-year-old Amaris Traversy, who was placed into foster care at birth, melted hearts during a school concert by repeatedly mouthing "my mommy" to her adoptive mother, Genevieve Traversy, in the audience. Initially hesitant around people and wary of affection when she joined the Traversy family at 18 months, Amaris now thrives in her nurturing environment.

Today, Amaris enjoys reading, gymnastics, and school, proving just how transformative adoption can be when children are surrounded by love and stability.

In a video shared on TikTok, Lola captures the heartwarming moment her grandmother opens a box containing the gift she’d dreamed of for nearly a century.
