Adoption provides a powerful pathway for children to find loving homes and stability. Every year, over 250,000 children enter foster care, and sadly, not all find permanent homes. However, for a 5-year-old boy from Bernalillo, New Mexico, his dream came true in a courtroom moment that touched hearts nationwide.

During his official adoption hearing, captured on video and shared by USA TODAY, the judge invited anyone present to speak. Without hesitation, the young boy eagerly raised his hand.

"I wanted to say that I love my mom so much and she's the best mom I ever had," he announced sincerely.

His heartfelt declaration deeply moved everyone present, including his adoptive mother, Jennifer Hubby, who fought back tears as she embraced her son. Even the judge found the moment profound and emotionally significant.

"Oh my gosh. Well, you know what. It's important to tell people you love them and that they care about you. So, you're a lucky guy," the judge said, visibly touched. She added warmly, "I am glad you love them. That's what we're supposed to be doing. It's a good thing."

Finalizing the adoption, the judge congratulated Jennifer Hubby, concluding a lengthy and challenging process. For Jennifer, adopting Cameron was a dream she'd cherished from the day he was born, despite the lengthy financial and legal hurdles involved.

Jennifer openly credited her wife Kimberly for making the adoption possible. In an emotional (now-deleted) Facebook post, she wrote, "I have officially adopted Cameron."

In another heartfelt post, Jennifer highlighted Kimberly’s crucial support: "NONE of this would be possible without my beautiful wife."

"None of this would have been possible without Kim courageously standing up and saying she agrees and supports this adoption. A mother protecting her son. That’s what she did for us," Jennifer wrote, emphasizing Kimberly's dedication.

Jennifer noted that although Cameron often received the spotlight, Kimberly's consistent hard work and steadfast support provided the stability their family needed to complete the adoption.

The emotional adoption hearing isn't an isolated story of love transforming lives. Another touching moment recently gained attention online, illustrating the beauty of adoption.

Two-year-old Amaris Traversy, who was placed into foster care at birth, melted hearts during a school concert by repeatedly mouthing "my mommy" to her adoptive mother, Genevieve Traversy, in the audience. Initially hesitant around people and wary of affection when she joined the Traversy family at 18 months, Amaris now thrives in her nurturing environment.

Today, Amaris enjoys reading, gymnastics, and school, proving just how transformative adoption can be when children are surrounded by love and stability.

Mom honors her loss by helping 3 children get bionic arms for Christmas

Think bionic arms are just the stuff of superhero movies? Think again. Thanks to an incredible blend of cutting-edge technology and the power of community, three children in the UK were given their new "life-changing" Hero Arms on December 12—just in time for Christmas. For Zoey Hampton-Pigeon (8), Finley Jarvis (11), and Ettie Baker (8), their new “Hero Arms” aren’t just cool gadgets—they’re life-changing miracles.

Their story is made possible by the Big Hero 3 campaign, a fundraising initiative started by mother Sarah Lockey, who launched the campaign to help families of children with missing limbs fundraise for bionic arms. This grassroots movement raised a total of £60,000 for the three children—£40,000 from the Open Bionics Foundation, The Worshipful Company of Glovers, Foresight Group, and an anonymous donor and an additional £20,000 raised collectively by the three families themselves.

She took the same photo of her parents for 27 years, the final one says everything

Saying goodbye to loved ones can be a tender, bittersweet ritual, especially when those goodbyes accumulate over decades. For photographer Deanna Dikeman—known on Instagram as @deannadikeman—documenting these moments became a powerful, long-term project. Over 27 years, she snapped photos of her parents waving farewell in their driveway, culminating in one final image that feels like a punch to the gut.

A 27-year tradition
What began in 1991 as a casual snapshot turned into an ongoing series Dikeman informally called “Leaving and Waving.” Every time she left her parents’ home, she would pause to capture them standing in the driveway, hands raised in a goodbye wave. In an Instagram post shared by @the.pinklemonade, her images spanned from the early ‘90s until October 2017. The collection is currently on display at Réseau L U X (@reseau_lux) in Paris.

Mom’s viral “Zoomies” meltdown method is saving parents from toddler chaos

Tantrums, a staple of the "terrible twos," are a well-known challenge for parents of toddlers aged 1 to 4. These emotional outbursts can be difficult to manage, especially when they happen frequently. While many strategies exist to deal with these meltdowns, Alivia Cromartie’s unique approach is making waves on social media.

Cromartie, a mother from Georgia, has adapted a behavior commonly seen in dogs known as "Zoomies." Zoomies, or Frenzy Random Activity Periods (FRAPs), are when dogs suddenly burst into energetic running. Cromartie applied this playful technique to calm her 18-month-old daughter, Icey, and it worked wonders.
